About

This is a picture of me.

This is a picture of me.

Professional

I’m an enterprising producer and journalist with a knack for finding good sound and unique stories. At Wyoming Public Radio, I led coverage of our energy and natural resources reporting, traveling around the state meeting new people and collecting news tips. My vigor for the job has led to important investigative pieces about behind-the-scenes state action alongside 2 a.m. frog call recordings with scientists.

I’m ambitious when it comes to finding ledes that have yet to be told. I’m always on high alert for tips whether it’s through public records requests, social media or just visiting a new community. That’s led to countless national features and spots.

My personal initiative led me to develop the nine-episode Carbon Valley podcast. After a compelling daily story, I realized I may have happened upon an incredible story. I like to do stories that expose listeners to new ideas and ones that delve into the human psyche.

Since Wyoming Public Radio, I’ve devoted myself to storytelling through long-form audio. At Sports History This Week, I managed production of every other 30-minute audio documentary. That means taking an idea from pitch to final product including leading production and writing each episode. Now at the Indicator from Planet Money, I manage daily production to put out a light-hearted and education story on economics.

Personal

I’m an avid reader, enjoyer of all things outdoors, and piano player. I try to read as many weird books as possible in a year. My background in music has led me to be a better audio producer. I’ve been playing piano since I could walk and it still gives me peace of mind to sit in front of 88 keys. It’s taught me how to learn, be patient, and the value of focusing on detail. It should be noted I am also an avid collector of plants.
